The fall concerts were started years ago when our friends, Brewer & Shipley, performed an acoustic show for family and friends who gathered around a roaring fire in the lobby. The occasional evening of music at Wildwood has since grown into our annual Fall Concert Series. The concerts are still held in our lobby, in front of the big stone fireplace, after our guests have enjoyed European style dining featuring home cooked meals and homemade desserts! Most of the artists who grace our “stage” perform up close, personal, and unplugged. Our guests enjoy the experience of a lifetime, and the performers walk away with warmed hearts and big smiles.

Missouri Wineries – Uncork an Adventure

Taste The Renaissance - Today we're enjoying an exciting renaissance of interest in the wonderful wines of Missouri. We've been quietly perfecting the art of growing grapes and making wine here in America's heartland for nearly a century-and-a-half. Now, folks everywhere are discovering the magic of our distinctive wines - including varietals with uncommon names like Cynthiana/Norton, Vignoles, Seyval and Chambourcin.

Our sun-drenched rolling hills and long growing season are perfect for realizing the full potential of these extraordinary grapes. We're also winning acclaim from wine connoisseurs and judges, consistently bringing home more than our fair share of awards from national and international wine competitions. This site showcases the dedicated people, programs, and the natural blessings of our land which, in concert, have made this renaissance possible. You're warmly invited to visit our wineries, and to taste for yourself the wonders of Missouri Wine Country.

Marvel at the history of Meramec. It is the site of the first successful Ironworks west of the Mississippi River. The furnace and refinery forges remain to remind us of the hard work that went into settling this portion of Missouri.

Two beautiful museums help to keep alive the rich history of Meramec. The Meramec Museum contains natural as well as cultural history exhibits of the area. The Agriculture Museum has a grand display of farm machinery, blacksmith shop and Granny’s Kitchen.

Meramec Spring is one of the largest springs in Missouri. Its average daily flow is 100,000,000 gallons of water. The National Park Service designated Meramec as the first registered natural landmark in the state of Missouri.

Wildlife abounds at Meramec Spring Park. The 1,860-acre wildlife refuge is home to many species of wildlife including whitetail deer, red fox, great blue heron, wild turkey, raccoon, opossum, gray squirrel and chipmunks.

Trout fishing abounds in the cool waters of Meramec Spring. The spring provides a good environment for trout. The Department of Conservation raises trout within the Park and stocks them in the Spring Branch for fishermen.

Floating the Upper Meramec consists of two miles of the crystal clear Meramec River. The river flows through the Park providing many recreational opportunities. Floating and fishing are very popular.

Old Iron Works Days

The second full weekend in October is Old Iron Works Days. Thousands attend this two-day event. Over fifty crafters demonstrate crafts used in the 1800’s. A banjo and fiddling contest ends the event on Sunday.

Dillard Mill State Historic Site
Davisville, Missouri

Missouri Department of Natural Resources

A barn-red mill nestled among green trees beside blue waters rolling over a rock dam creates the colorful setting of one of Missouri’s most picturesque historic sites. Dillard Mill State Historic Site interprets one of Missouri’s best preserved, water-powered gristmills. Today most of the original machinery is still intact and operational. A turn of a wheel brings the machinery back to life during tours of the mill, which are given year-round. Picnic sites provide a peaceful, scenic setting to enjoy lunch. Visitors can also wade across the creek to a 1.5-mile hiking trail that winds through an oak-hickory forest.

Onondaga Cave

The natural beauty that characterizes Missouri is more than skin deep. Missouri, the Cave State, has more than 5, 500 caves, and some of the state’s most scenic natural wonders lie beneath the surface—in caves. One Missouri cave stands out above the rest—Onondaga Cave in Onondaga Cave State Park.

Deep underground there is a world that nature has created using water to form deposits of tall stalagmites, dripping stalactites, active flowstones and many other colorful deposits. Onondaga Cave, a National Natural Landmark, and Cathedral Cave showcase these natural wonders, which can be viewed during cave tours.
